Tools to Do Hard Things
Founded in 2016 by a world champion jump rope coach, we design premium-quality jump ropes for competitive athletes. That's because we believe jump rope athletes excel when they have the best possible tools. And if our ropes are good enough for the best athletes in the world, we know they're good enough for everyone else.
How We Started
Our story began with a chance encounter between a PE teacher and a jump rope team...
-
Equipping Entrepreneurs
B2B OPPORTUNITIESWe love working with entrepreneurs including gym owners, fitness influencers and brand builders, supporting them with unique programs for growing their business.
-
Supporting the Amigos
MEET THE AMIGOSWe work in close partnership with the Amigos, a group of five adult men with developmental disabilities who we employ to make our beaded jump ropes.
-
Prioritizing People
JOB OPPORTUNITIESAs a business we've made a commitment to prioritizing people over profit. Profit still matters, but wherever possible we sacrifice short term profit for long-term people investment. This means hiring people instead of using machines, offering great benefits for a small company, and investing in the personal growth of our employees.
-
Sharing Stories
THE OVERCOMERS INTERVIEW SERIESWe find encouragement to persevere and overcome when we hear from others who have their own Do Hard Things stories. We are on a mission to tell these stories and encourage our community.

More than Jump Ropes
We see ourselves as more than just a jump rope company. Ultimately, we see that there are only two eternal things: God & people. We are motivated by the lasting positive impact we can have on people through the biblical model of character development.
"Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope."
— Romans 5:3-4

Our Mission & Values
Mission: We work every day to equip & encourage people (employees and customers) to do hard things that help them grow in character and capacity.
Values: We take our values seriously, hiring for people who are thoughtful and humble and who love to tinker and take ownership.
-
We are Thoughtful
We treat others with the same thought and care we hope to receive, and we look for opportunities to be an unexpected blessing.
-
We Strive to Be Humble
We seek and provide honest feedback. We value openness and curiosity, and we are willing to try new ideas and learn from others.
-
We Tinker
We recognize that we can get better. We see the gap between where we are and where we want to be. This gap isn't defeating, it's invigorating.
-
We Take Ownership
We take initiative to make it better. We don't place blame on others. We all have areas of ownership and accountability within the business.
